This series consists of photographic prints documenting 4-H Report to the Nation Team members presenting the annual 4-H report to the President of the United States during National 4-H Club Week. The reports describe the achievements of 4-H Clubs during the reporting period. Pictured in this series are 4-H youth during their trips to Washington, DC, New York, and Los Angeles, California, and meeting with U. S. Presidents, government officials, and prominent personalities For example, J. Edgar Hoover, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is pictured with the young reporters during their 1953 trip to Washington, DC. During the 1954 and 1955 trips, President Dwight D. Eisenhower is shown with the 4-H'ers (33-Q-4-5, 33-Q-4-6 and 33-Q-5-N14448). Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson is pictured listening to the youth during their visit to Washington, DC (33-Q-4-S18470 and 33-Q-4-S18471). At the White House in 1963, President John F. Kennedy is pictured receiving a bound "Report to the Nation" (33-Q-13-1 through 33-Q-13-3). Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson is shown with the youth during that Washington, DC visit. Report to the Nation Teams are shown meeting to discuss how the 4-H programs are changing to address recent problems with Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Robert Weaver (33-Q-15-26). During their trip to New York City the young reporters are pictured being introduced by Ed Sullivan on a Columbia Broadcasting Studio television program (33-Q-8-2). While visiting Los Angeles, California, television host Art Linkletter served as the moderator for a 1963 "4-H Club Week Reporter" panel (33-Q-13-8 and 33-Q-13-9). At an unidentified event, Peace Corps Director R. Sargent Shriver is shown with the 4-H members (33-Q-15-1 through 33-Q-15-12). Some of the Texas Chapter 4-H members are pictured with astronaut Alan B. Shepard, Jr. in his Houston, Texas office at the Manned Spacecraft Center (33-Q-15-18 and 33-Q-15-19). There are no photographic prints for the years 1974 and 1979.

Rear Admiral Alan Bartlett Shepard Jr. (November 18, 1923 – July 21, 1998) was an American astronaut, naval aviator, test pilot, and businessman. In 1961, he became the first American to travel into space, and in 1971, he walked on the Moon. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Shepard saw action with the surface navy during World War II. He became a naval aviator in 1946, and a test pilot in 1950.
